A FALSE book that was featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show last year, started a fire burning in
Timothy Burns’ heart. As he listened to the story this author told, only to find out that it was all made up, Tim
felt anger and mistrust surface. Burns, along with millions of others, found out that not all authors and their
books are what they pretend to be. A question that was going through Tim’s mind over and over was,” Why did
that guy have to make up his life? I lived thru similar sititutions as he described and I’ve got the documents to
prove it!” Not that Mr. Burns is particularly proud of all of those documents. The jail records, the criminal
charges, those are not what Tim would like to be remembered for. And that is where this story starts.

Tim Burns re-released his book,”A Boy From Cape Cod” on February 14, 2008. The first release had the same
story, it was just relayed to the public in a manner that didn’t fit the changes Burns has experienced in his
life through writing this memoir. Tim tells a tale of sex, drugs and rock and roll that has a happy ending. This
version ends with hope. It carries a strong message that addiction to drugs, alcohol and impurity can be
overcome. What started out as anger over finding out that a book written and endorsed by a major talk show host
was a fake, has turned into one man’s passion to share the truth. Tim Burns has written his experiences about
being touched by evil, having death threats made against him and having lived to not only share the details, but to
be saved by the grace of the Catholic faith and live his life today with an essence of hope.
